KUMIHIMO BRAID IDEAS
On this page, I have listed a few ideas of what YOU can do with my Kumihimo braids ! I have SO many ideas on how to use these braids there just isn't enough time in the day ! lol ! Jewelry of course is always a good place to start but don't limit yourself to JUST jewelry ! Explore - Experiment - there is NO WRONG WAY to use these ! lol !

Eyeglasses holder: This particular one is my own hand dyed black silk & fuschia Omega twisted cord. I couldn't put my glasses on to demonstrate how well it works 'cause I couldn't see to take the pictures ! lol !
Necklace with wired pendant bead: This is a Rounded Flat braid I made into a necklace. Rounded Flat braid sounds strange and maybe not so good for a necklace but it really DOES work well as you can see in the photo's ! It lays quite nicely on the neck ! Add a slider bead with hoop, wire up a bead (this is one of my funky face beads ! lol ! ) to make a pendant and WHA-LA ! I left the ends of this braid unfinished. You can tie it to the length you want, cut off the ends and there's your necklace. This gorgeous braid is made with my own hand dyed silk strings/cords in turquoise & jade green and a multicolor soft nylon sparkle yarn in purples & blues ! The pictures do no justice to this braid !
 
Simple Wrap Around Bracelet: Easy peasy ! lol ! This is a round braid I made using my own hand dyed silk strings/cord & shiney 100% viscose yarn ! The silk is a lovely coral color and the viscose is multicolored and oh soooo soft and shiney ! I finished the ends then just wrapped it around my wrist 3 times.
Another braid I made with my own hand dyed silk strings/cords. It's another way to finish the ends to make eyeglasses holders ! I like to call this braid FIRED UP ! lol ! Red, orange and yellow silk cords are NOT as bright as these pictures show but it is bright. These are tough colors to photograph.
A simple idea - use your braid to hang ANY type of tag or identification tag. This is just one of my business cards with a hole punched. Hmmm, what else could you hang from clip as pictured ? If you purchase one of my braids and would like a clip as pictured, just let me know if you want one in goldtone or silvertone ! It will be included in your package !
Ok, here are a few NON jewelry ways to use your braid ! So many ideas come to mind, use your imagination !
This is a FLAMELESS CANDLE ! IT IS BATTERY OPERATED ! NO HEAT OR FLAME ! DO NOT USE BRAIDS TO DECORATE A REGULAR CANDLE THAT HAS A REAL FLAME BURNING !
I added one of my own handmade lampwork beads to add a bit more deocoration ! I like it ! When it's turned on, you can still see a soft glow & the flickering of a real candle ! Even though it runs on batteries and there is NO FLAME !
Frame
I think this is a very fun idea ! Take an old photo and dress it up a bit ! It really does look great in person ! Use any style or shape of braid and attach it to the frame ! This framed pic is laying down so I could get the photo.
Belt for Robe
I had this fun yarn before I started with Kumihimo so I thought, why not try making a belt ! So, I did ! This one is a flat chevron pattern but it would be great in the round as well. I can make one for you too ! Just send me an email and let me know what colors you like and I'll send you some pics of yarns I have to use. At that time, we can talk pricing.
